I could have easily spent more than 2 days in Prague but if you don’t have the time to spare then 2 days is still plenty of time to see all the best sights. Below is an itinerary for your trip to Prague ensuring you see all the BEST places.

As soon as I arrived in Prague I fell in love with the old, medieval-looking architecture and buildings that represent its history and culture. It’s so different from any other city I have been to and to me it feels as if I travelled back in time.

Accommodation in Prague

I recommend using either Agoda or Airbnb to book your accommodation in Prague. Airbnb has plenty of affordable and conveniently located places to choose from. 

Getting around Prague

The best way to get around the city is by using the trams. It’s quick, easy, and affordable. You can buy a ticket from tram stops, newsstands, and metro stations.

Purchase the 1-day ticket which you can use for 24 hours (unlimited transportation). Visit the Prague Tram Website for more information on lines, schedules, and fares.

Prague isn’t a big city and many places in this itinerary are within walking distance from each other. I enjoyed walking instead of taking transit. Walking around Prague is a totally different experience itself.

2 Days in Prague Itinerary

Day 1

1. Petrin Hill

Start your walk from the base of Petrin Hill on Ujezd Street in Mala Strana where you will see the statues for the Memorial to the Victims of Communism. The information plaque next to the statues will provide you with a little history lesson for the day.

At the top of Petrin Hill, you will have a fantastic view of the city and can visit Petrin Lookout Tower, the Rose Garden, and the Mirror Maze. 

To get to Ujezd Street you can take several different tram lines during the daytime including No. 6, 9, 12, 20, 22, and 23. 

2. John Lennon Wall

The John Lennon Wall is one of the most popular tourists spots in Prague. You will find many people here getting photos in front of the wall. The brightly coloured graffiti wall makes for a really cool photo.

The John Lennon Wall symbolizes love and peace! If you want to you can write, draw, paint John Lennon/Beatle lyrics, peace signs, or inspirational quotes on the wall. 

There are many restaurants and cute cafes around and a really cool Beatles-inspired restaurant you have to check out!

From Petrin Hill to the John Lennon Wall is about a 20-minute walk.

3. Charles Bridge

Charles Bridge is only a 4-minute walk away from the John Lennon Wall. It’s a famous tourist attraction in Prague so it’s packed with tourists most of the day.

There are also many souvenir vendors on both sides of the bridge that sell some really neat stuff, artists doing their thing and musicians busking. Charles Bridge is very historic with its statues of saints and towers.

4. Beer Museum

From all that walking you would have done already you’re probably dying for a drink! A 6-minute walk from Charles Bridge is the Prague Beer Museum.

The Czech Republic is famous for its beer around the world and it is a big part of their culture!

At the Beer Museum, they have 30 beers on tap! You can pick different flavours of beer to taste on a paddle! It’s a fun affordable experience for even those that don’t love beer like myself! 

5. Old Town and The Astronomical Clock

Old Town Square is where it’s all happening! It is the core of the historical center and is only a 5-minute walk from the Beer Museum.

There are many statues, historical old buildings, and churches in Old Town Square.

The famous (most overrated) Astronomical Clock is the oldest astronomical clock in the world still working. I wasn’t there for the chime which occurs at the start of every hour but there were lots of tourists with their cameras out waiting for it. 

6. Dinner at Terasa U Prince Hotel

Terasa U Prince Hotel’s rooftop restaurant is the best place to eat dinner in Prague! You will get the most breathtaking view of the city from above!

Located in the heart of Prague in Old Town Square you can’t get better than this restaurant! The food is tasty and the atmosphere is euphoric.

I ordered the homemade pappardelle with roasted chicken and tomato sauce and it was delicious! Bring your camera because you going to want to take photos for sure!

Day 2

1. Segway Tour

The Segway Tour is the best way to see Prague! It’s so much fun and a great way to see a lot of places within a short period of time. I did the 3-hour tour and that was plenty of time to see everything.

It does take a bit to get used to the Segway but once you get the hang of it you’ll be pro by the end of the tour. The weirdest feeling was getting off the Segway because you get so used to the Segway being your legs for 3 hours that you kinda forget how to walk.

2. Prague Castle

Prague Castle is the LARGEST ancient castle area in the world. Be prepared to do some walking to see the historic buildings and surrounding gardens.

You can take the tram to Prague Castle from anywhere in the city. It’s free to wander around and explore the castle’s surroundings (courtyards and gardens). Access to the Exhibitions, Museums, Cathedral and Residence will require a ticket purchase.

3. T-anker Restaurant

Located in the center of Prague is another rooftop restaurant that has STUNNING views from New Town to Prague Castle.

The entrance to this dining establishment can be a challenge to find. You’ll need to go around to the left of the main entrance to the Kotva mall and keep walking until you see the entrance to the elevator on the left. Take the elevator to the fifth floor.

The restaurant does get busy in the evenings so either go early or book a table. You can make a reservation on the T-Anker Restaurant Website (on the right side of the website, click the find a table button).
