Sidemen is an absolute gem, a beautiful village surrounded by lush rice fields in the shadow of one of Bali’s highest mountains Mt. Agung. You’ll find yourself completely transported to another world here.
Vast green rice terraces, incredible views of the volcano Mt Agung and total peace and tranquillity is what you will experience in Sidemen.
Sidemen Village is located in the Karangasem regency of East Bali tucked away in the mountains, just a short drive from the main tourist areas. It takes about an hour and a half to get to Sidemen from the international airport or one hour from Ubud.
The most affordable way to explore Sidemen is by scooter however the roads are less developed, windy and hilly so take extra caution. Since Sidemen is remote you cannot get GoJek or Grab out there.
If you’d rather not drive a scooter, the only other option for getting around is to hire a driver, which your hotel can arrange for you.
