Along with its stunning rice terraces, unique temples and tropical beaches Bali is home to many incredible waterfalls. Here are the 10 best waterfalls in Bali you don’t want to miss.
Before listing the 10 best waterfalls in Bali here are 3 things to note when visiting waterfalls in Bali.
1) Keep in mind that if you are visiting the waterfalls in the rainy season, you will experience them when they are the most powerful but the pool of water at the base of the waterfall and the river itself will be a brown muddy colour instead of a greenish-blue colour.
2) Most of the waterfalls in Bali will charge an entrance fee and they only take cash.
3) Always use caution when hiking to waterfalls, especially in the rainy season when the trails and rocks are more slippery.
Sekumpul is the tallest and most magical waterfall in Bali! It’s located in North Bali about a 2-hour drive from Ubud. There’s not just one, but three amazing waterfalls in this valley.
For viewing the falls, there are 3 different ticket options: View only, Medium Trek, Long Trek
You can observe the waterfall from above with an entrance ticket that only includes a view; it does not offer access to the falls itself. The cost of this ticket is 20,000 IDR per person.
I recommend the Long Trekking Tour. To see Sekumpul, Fiji, and the Hidden Waterfall, it will take you around an hour and a half. This ticket includes a local guide and costs 200,000 IDR per person.
This trip involves a lot of stairs, but it’s well worth it to get a close-up look at these magnificent waterfalls. Be prepared to get wet from the mist of the falls. The Hidden Waterfall is the only one you can swim at.
Located just a 30-minute drive from Ubud town, Kanto Lampo waterfall is easily accessible via a short 5-minute walk. Upon reaching the bottom of the stairs, you have the option to go right or left. The right path leads to the front of the waterfall, while the left path takes you to a natural pool and river. Changing rooms are available on the left side.
Balinese locals will guide you to where it’s safe to stand under the waterfall and will take photos for you if you wish. They know the best lighting, poses and angles for your photos because of their experience in doing this every day all day. Don’t forget to tip them!
Entrance Fee: 20,000 IDR
Leke Leke located North of Ubud is a beautiful tall narrow waterfall surrounded by lush green jungle.
Take a picturesque stroll through the jungle for just 15 minutes to reach the waterfall, walking along a flat path and crossing over wooden bridges. The ideal time for capturing the perfect photo is between 9 am to 3 pm when the lighting is at its best.

The Banyumala Twin Waterfalls are two parallel waterfalls with a swimming pool at their base.
It’s about a 15-minute slightly difficult walk down to the waterfall. Be careful on your way down as the rocks are slippery.
If you visit Banyumala Twin, be sure to check out Banyu Wana Amertha Waterfall as well since they are both located in the mountainous region of Bedugul in North Bali.

Banyu Wana Amertha is a unique waterfall that stretches out of a large rock wall covered in greenery!
There are 4 waterfalls to see here in different areas but on the same path. Once you reach a fork in the road past the entrance turn, left at the sign and walk for about 5-10 minutes to reach the first two waterfalls.
Come back to the sign and walk another 5-10 minutes to reach the other two. The furthest waterfall (around a 15-20 minute walk) is Banyu Wana Amertha.
You can pay for a scooter taxi to take you down to the waterfall and bring you back if you prefer not to walk.
Entrance Fee: 40,000 IDR
Located in East Bali, Tukad Cepung Waterfall is approximately an hour’s drive from Ubud town. From the parking lot, it takes about 15 minutes to walk to the waterfall, with numerous stairs along the way.
Tukad Cepung Waterfall is one of the most photogenic waterfalls in Bali. The best time to visit for photos and videos is between 10 am to 1 pm when the sunlight shines directly into the cave.

Goa Rang Reng Waterfall is a true hidden gem that can be easily accessed with just a short 5-minute walk down some stairs. Once there, take some time to soak in the pools above the waterfall, but be cautious as the rocks can be slippery.
To experience the full beauty of Goa Rang Rang, make sure to ask one of the local guides to lead you through the stunning canyons to three hidden waterfalls. The last two waterfalls even feature a swing! The hike through the river to these three waterfalls takes about 10 minutes, and in some areas, the water can reach up to your stomach. Keep in mind that the local guides are donation-based, so feel free to tip them at whatever amount you deem appropriate.

Gembleng Waterfall offers a peaceful and secluded ambiance, as it’s not widely frequented by tourists. Surrounding the waterfall are serene rock pools and breathtaking views of the jungle and rice paddies.
To reach the top, you’ll need to climb 60 stairs adjacent to the waterfall. Be cautious when navigating the rocks as they can be slippery when wet.
The waterfall features two rock pools, with the one located in the center offering the best view. There are stairs leading to a viewpoint at the top of the waterfall, providing breathtaking views of Sidemen.
Entrance Fee: Donation only
Aling Aling Waterfall is nestled within the Secret Gardens of Sambangan, accessible either through a trekking adventure or by purchasing a visitor ticket for entry. A visitor ticket costs 20,000 IDR and doesn’t require a guide, but you won’t be able to swim, slide, or jump into any of the waterfalls.
For an unforgettable adventure, I suggest booking one of the three trekking tours, with the Medium Trekking Tour being my top recommendation. This tour will take you to Aling Aling Waterfall, Blue Lagoon, and Kroya Waterfall, where you can experience thrilling water slides and cliff jumping under the expert guidance of a local guide.
Short Trek: 125,000 IDR
Medium Trek: 250, 000 IDR
Long Trek: 500,000 IDR
