Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa in the Okanagan is a beautifully structured luxury hotel on top of a mountain in Vernon. It’s the BEST place to stay for a romantic getaway and/or a girl’s weekend! You will leave Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa feeling relaxed, rejuvenated and revitalized!
My favourite thing about Sparkling Hill Resort is that its adults only! Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa is particularly beautiful to visit during winter as the Okanagan turns into a winter wonderland!
Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa is about a 5-hour drive from Vancouver depending on traffic. It will take longer if you’re travelling through winter due to icy and snowy roads.
Make sure your car has snow tires as it’s mandatory on the highway during the winter season. If you need to hire a car in Vancouver the best place to book is on carrentals.com. Their rental cars usually come with snow tires but it’s still good to check with the rental company.
When I visited Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa I didn’t plan on going when the roads were in bad conditions from the snow but as you may know in Canada the weather is unpredictable and it so happened that the weekend I went was the first weekend of snowfall on the highway!
The Coquihalla Highway (which is one of the highway routes you take to get to Sparking Hill Resort) is one of the worst and most dangerous roads in North America during winter. On our way, we saw many cars that had slid out and trucks flipped on the side of the road.
So please be careful if you are travelling during winter to Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa from Vancouver.
Book your stay at Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa in Okanagan either on Agoda for the cheapest rates.
A one-night stay at the resort costs around CAD 400 – 500 depending on the time of the year you book. Summer and peak seasons are more expensive. If you are staying at Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa as a girl’s weekend the price becomes more affordable as you split the cost.
Check-in time is 4 pm and check-out time is 11 am. As soon as I walked into the reception area of this fancy hotel I felt rich vibes! Every person checking in looked like a million dollars!
My friends and I booked the Superior Queen Room with Two Queen Beds and a Mountain View which accommodates up to 4 people.
The best part of the room was the spa bathtub right in front of the open wide window with views of the valley covered in snowfall! It was truly MAGICAL!
The KurSpa located inside Sparkling Hill Resort is the place to be for a health and wellness retreat. There are 3 pools: an indoor serenity pool, an indoor hot pool, and a heated outdoor infinity pool.
The same RULES apply in the KurSpa as the Scandinave Spa in Whistler: no talking, no mobile phones, and no photographs.
There are many spa treatments to choose from including massages, facials, hair treatments, etc.
For details about spa treatments and pricing, visit the KurSpa Website and download the brochure.
Be in the comfort of your bathrobe, read a book and enjoy the views of the snowy mountains in the relaxation rooms located in KurSpa. You don’t have to book a spa treatment to enjoy the relaxation rooms.
The resort is well known for its saunas which include the Aqua Meditation Room, Rose Steam, Salt Steam, Crystal Steam, Herbal Sauna, Panorama Sauna, Finnish Sauna, and the Igloo Chamber.
I have never heard of a cold sauna before but they have one here and it’s called the European Cryo Cold Chamber. The chamber is -110 degrees! I don’t know if I ever want to try this!
Kneipp Hydrotherapy is where you move through hot and cold waters in a counterclockwise progression. The pool is in a shape of a ring and you start by walking into cold water and then move into hot water and then back to cold etc. It’s recommended to do at least 4 cycles.
A stay at Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa includes a complimentary a la carte breakfast at the PeakFine Restaurant. You can enjoy your breakfast in the comfort of your hotel bathrobe and slippers!
I didn’t realize this was a thing that was acceptable at a fancy hotel but the majority of hotel guests at breakfast were in their robes and slippers and for me, this was my only regret! It looked super cozy!
The breakfast is delicious and you have the most spectacular view of the valley and mountains from any table in the restaurant!
On our way to Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa, we visited Quails Gate Winery situated in Kelowna. Quails Gate Winery has the most SCENIC views of the Okanagan valley, lake, and mountains!
I recommend visiting this winery as it’s not too far from Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa!
The wine tasting costs CAD 15.00 per person and this includes trying 4 different wines of your choice from their menu.
Book a wine tasting in advance on their website to be guaranteed a spot!
At Quails Gate, you can enjoy sipping wine while enjoying the beautiful scenery of the vineyards with a perfect backdrop of the lake and mountains.
They have wines here to purchase for all types of budgets, you can even buy a white wine for CAD 10! Purchase a bottle of wine to take with you to enjoy at Sparkling Hill Resort and Spa in the Okanagan!
