We all know that Las Vegas is known as Sin City! All because the majority of businesses on the strip make their money from people drinking, gambling, and going to strip clubs. Las Vegas is a romantic honeymoon destination and here in this blog post are the BEST things to do in Las Vegas for a honeymoon.
Vegas has so much more to offer than a party central for single peeps. It’s also a place for romantic experiences. I know this because I have been to Vegas three times. A couple of times while I was single and I also got MARRIED and had my honeymoon in Vegas! Some of the best romantic experiences I have had so far happened in Vegas!
You can spend hours walking the strip, exploring each hotel inside and out. Each hotel is different and unique! One minute you feel like you’re in Paris and the next you’re in Italy. This is what I loved about getting married in Vegas we got wedding photos with the most STUNNING backdrops!
The below things to do are exactly everything we did on our honeymoon and they all added to some incredibly romantic moments.
You can find luxury hotels for a reasonable price in Vegas and that is because hotels make their money mostly from their casinos.
Booking accommodation is easy, you can book a package that includes flights and accommodation for a really good price on Expedia.
The Palazzo at the Venetian Resort is the best hotel I have stayed at and it most likely had to do with the fact that our room was upgraded to the Executive Suite where we had a pool table, grand piano, karaoke room, and the biggest bathroom I have seen!
Here’s a tip for you: Let the hotel staff know that you are on your honeymoon because they may upgrade you just like they did for us.
A website to book cheap luxurious accommodation is HotelTonight. Take a look at this website first as they have the cheapest deals if you’re booking at the last minute.
You can book up to 100 days in advance and stay up to 14 nights. The last time I checked you can book to stay at Planet Hollywood for $55 a night!
Vegas Strip is about 6.8 km long and would take roughly around an hour to walk from one end of the strip to the other!
Vegas also has both Uber and Lyft which is the most convenient mode of transportation to use if you don’t want to walk. Walking on the Strip in Vegas is an experience itself!
I can not put into words how SPECTACULAR the Grand Canyon is and I only saw a small part of it! There’s nothing better than sharing this memory with the love of your life.
You have to hire a MUSTANG and drive from Vegas to the Grand Canyon. It’s just a bucket list thing to do! It’s incredible driving through the desert in an open-top car feeling the wind in your hair and taking in the gorgeous views!
The drive to Grand Canyon from Vegas is about 2 and a half hours so I would plan this as an all-day trip.
You can hire a mustang for around $80 US for the day plus the cost of insurance on carrentals.com.
The only accessible way to get to the Grand Canyon West Rim Skywalk is to park your car in the parking lot of the Visitor Centre and take a shuttle bus from there. The general admission starts at $56 US and you can purchase your tickets when you get there.
The Grand Canyon West Rim Skywalk is a horseshoe-shaped glass bridge and is 4000 feet high from the floor of the Canyon! If you’re afraid of heights this probably won’t be something you want to do, but, on the other hand, it could be a great way to face your fears and experience an adrenaline rush!
Since we got married in Vegas we decided to wear our wedding outfits to the Grand Canyon to get some AMAZING wedding photos. The staff at the Grand Canyon Skywalk shut down the entire walkway just for us!
Photography staff are available for you to hire to take professional or hilarious photos of you both on the Skywalk. You will get some incredible once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon photos!
On the way back to Vegas make a stop to see Hoover Dam, the famous landmark! This concrete dam is in the Black Canyon of the Colorado River.
Strolling down Fremont Street in Old Vegas is probably one of the most interesting things we did on our Las Vegas honeymoon! There are so many bizarre things that you will see on this street!
Apart from people watching and visiting the casinos, visit the Shark Tank at the Golden Nugget Hotel. If you’re feeling brave you can ride the waterslide through the shark tank! Keep exploring the hotel and you will find a real Golden Nugget inside a glass cage.
Visit Binion’s Gambling Hall on Fremont Street and see the display of a million dollars cash!
Heart Attack Grill is a fun and unique restaurant experience! If you’re looking for a healthy lunch then this isn’t the place for you. The restaurant only serves food high in fat, sugar, and cholesterol and that is why the name of the restaurant is so fitting.
There’s a scale outside the restaurant where people can weigh themselves on and if you are over 300 pounds you can eat for FREE! When you enter the restaurant you are handed hospital patient gowns to change into. It’s hilarious looking in through the windows of the restaurant from the outside watching everyone wearing hospital gowns while they are eating.
If I can suggest anything it would be to order the smallest burger on the menu to avoid getting SPANKED! If you don’t finish your meal the rule is that you get spanked by one of the nurses (waitresses) by a paddleboard, and they spank people real hard! The loud smack and screams of patients were enough for me to make sure I ate everything off my plate!
The menu starts with the smallest burger which is the Single Bypass Burger and then makes its way up to the biggest burger on the menu: the Octuple Bypass Burger. The Octuple burger has 19,900 calories with 4 pounds of meat, 40 pieces of bacon, chilli, and lots of cheese!
We ordered some onion rings on the side and didn’t realize how filling these burgers were! We thought we were going to get spanked because we didn’t finish our onion rings but thank goodness the spanking only happens if you don’t finish the burger and not any side dishes ordered.
The IV of wine is a cool gimmick in that if you order the red wine it looks like blood. Who knows you might need an IV of wine to get through those painful spankings you might have to endure.
Helpful Tip: The restaurant only accepts cash so make sure you bring some with you!
Just remember you are not going for the food you are going for the experience!
I’m not a lover of museums but this museum was probably one of my favourite museums I have ever been to. It tells the story of how the Mob began and gives extensive information on American History. The true stories and revealing information of the battle between the Mob and the law is engaging and captivating!
Purchase your tickets at the Mob Museum for around $30 US online. There is a happy hour price ($10 off the price of a regular ticket) if you are not a Nevada resident and visit after 5 pm.
Prime Steakhouse Restaurant is the PERFECT place for a romantic dinner! The inside decor of the restaurant is luxurious, the food is delicious and the view is grand! If you book a table outside or near the window you will have an awesome view of the Bellagio Fountain Show.
The fountain show occurs every 15-30 mins depending on the night. Book a reservation in advance on Open Table as this restaurant is quite popular!
Vegas is famous for its spectacular shows and many of these are the shows of Cirque Du Soleil. I’ve seen a few Cirque Du Soleil shows and “O” is my favourite.
Out of all the things to do in Las Vegas for a honeymoon this was the BEST! The “O” show is impressive! The stage is water-themed and the water, aerial, and ground acrobatic acts are incredible! I found myself at the edge of my seat most of the show and many acts sent shivers down my spine!
The tickets are expensive especially if you want seats close to the front but it’s totally worth it! The tickets cost around $200 US depending on where you chose to sit. Book tickets to see the show on the Cirque Du Soleil website.
I hope the above things to do in Las Vegas for a honeymoon will help you create romantic memories you will never forget! Congratulations on your wedding and Happy Honeymoon!
